Scholarships

11+ and 13+ Entry

Academic scholarships at 11+ and 13+ are awarded based on performance in our entrance examinations.

16+ Entry

For candidates applying for 16+ entry to the Sixth Form, the Kensington Scholars programme offers academic scholarships of up to 30%. Academic scholarships at 16+ are based on GCSE results (or equivalent), as well as the student’s school reports and performance at interview. Students applying for the Kensington Scholars programme are expected to achieve Grades 9 to 7 in six or more subjects at GCSE (or equivalent).

Available at 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry. Art scholarships are awarded to outstanding artists who have a talent in drawing, painting, sketching, textiles or photography. Applicants must demonstrate a strong portfolio of work as part of their scholarship application and may be invited into the school for an assessment. Art Scholars are expected to take Art at GCSE and to participate in the school’s Art Club and exhibitions throughout their time at KPS.

Available at 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry. Drama scholarships are awarded to outstanding actors and actresses who demonstrate exceptional ability in drama and theatre. Applicants will be required to submit a recommendation letter from their drama teacher(s) and a video of a drama performance as part of their application. Drama Scholars will be expected to take Drama at GCSE and to participate in all school productions throughout their time at KPS.

Available at 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry. Music scholarships are awarded to outstanding musicians who play an instrument or sing with exceptional ability. Applicants must provide a reference from their Music teacher as well as a resume of their musical achievements. Music Scholars will additionally be asked to submit a portfolio of evidence and will be invited to perform two contrasting pieces of music or song as part of their scholarship application. Music Scholars will be expected to take Music at GCSE, and to participate in the school’s music groups (relevant to their instrument) throughout their time at KPS.

Available at 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry. Sports scholarships are awarded to outstanding sportsmen/women who perform at a high level in their chosen sport. Applicants must provide a reference from their sports coach as well as a resume of their sporting achievements and a portfolio of evidence. Candidates may also be asked to attend a trial day or receive a visit from the Director of Sport to observe their performance.  Sport Scholars are expected to take Physical Education at GCSE and to contribute to the sporting life of the school throughout their time at KPS.
