This term Kensington Park School competed in the London Regional Finals of the UKMT’s Senior Team Challenge. This is the first time the school has entered the competition. The team trained intensively with Mr Motion in a competition where past experience of working as a team is definite advantage.

The competition, over two hours, is divided into three sections, where the team firstly attempts to solve ten demanding problems, followed by a cross-number where the team is divided into pairs, with each pair only having half the clues. Finally, a shuffle relay, also in pairs, where one pair’s answer becomes the input clue for the other pair, carried out with no communication.

Commendably the team came sixth in the competition, with a near perfect solution to the cross-number.
