On Friday 25th January, Teagan travelled to Rome to compete in the EFC Rome Cadet Foil event. In a field of 161 fencers Teagan fenced in a poule of seven. Teagan won five out of six fights, defeated by the European number 5 seed (Teagan is seeded 84th).

Teagan was ranked 14th after the poules: http://www.engarde-service.com/files/federscherma/rome2019/ff/index.php?page=claspoules1.htm. She worked her way through the poules to the last sixteen, beating a Brazilian, American, three Italians and one French fencer on the way:  http://www.engarde-service.com/files/federscherma/rome2019/ff/index.php?page=tableau128-32.htm.  Her aim was to get a last 64 and surpassed this ending up on the podium in the finals http://www.engarde-service.com/files/federscherma/rome2019/ff/index.php?page=tableau16.htm. Teagan was defeated 15-7 and took the silver medal http://www.engarde-service.com/files/federscherma/rome2019/ff/index.php?page=clasfinal.htm .

This is a monumental result on the European Circuit and Teagan’s personal best. Next month she will travel to Foggia, Italy to represent GB at both Cadet U17 and Junior U20 for the European Championships.
